Brecon Town Council have worked tirelessly to make this town event bigger and better than ever. With panto elves in Santa’s Grotto, a visiting polar bear, magicians & live music across the town, hundreds of people have had a great day out. Craft stalls in the centre of town and in the market hall complement Brecon’s independent shops and are great for buying local Christmas presents. And after an exciting countdown, the beautiful lights are now lit and the festive season is now truly here. The honour of flicking the light switch was given to Brooke who won the Mayor’s Christmas Card competition, accompanied by the Mayor of Brecon, Cllr David Meredith.
The town retailers have also taken part in a Christmas window competition with the theme of using upcycled & recycled materials to create their display. The winner was Brecon Motors with their beautiful winter scene complete with jumbo snowman made from recycled tyres!
The Christmas lights and windows are well worth a visit – just another reason to shop in Brecon this December.
