Chester Male Voice Choir was founded in 1941 and for most of its existence it has been known as the Cestrian Male Voice Choir. The name was changed in 1999 to The City of Chester Male Voice Choir in order to be associated more closely with the city of its origin. More recently it prefers the shortened version of Chester Male Voice Choir.

Since its first overseas tour to Prague in 1971 the Choir has undertaken concert tours abroad to Germany, Holland, the United States of America, France and Malta and has also toured extensively in the U.K. to Cornwall, Yorkshire, The Midlands, South Wales, and Scotland. The Choir has sung in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen, and other members of the Royal Family, has made several recordings over the years and has appeared on Television and Radio on several occasions.

Currently the choir has a membership of some 50 singing members. Their motto: sing, inspire, support.
The choir will be performing in Brecon Cathedral as part of their Lunchtime Concert series 13th May 2022 at 1pm. Free Admission.
